Amsterdam - Leiden - Keukenhof - Amsterdam

DAY 1 // Amsterdam to Leiden
Enjoy a fascinating sight at the flower auction of Aalsmeer (flower capital of the world). It will dazzle you. At "De Cruquius", you experience how the Haarlemmermeerpolder was drained and land was created out of water. Haarlem has been the historical center of the tulip bulb-growing district for centuries and bears the nickname ‘Bloemenstad’ (flower city). Enjoy the beautiful architect of the old city center. On our way to Leiden we pass straight through the tulip bulb fields. Of course we stop to take in this color boost and let you take pictures. In Leiden (Leyden, city of Rembrandt), you hotel is close to the city center. On a nice evening, make a stroll through the city or take a canal cruise.

DAY 2 // Leiden to Amsterdam
We leave our hotel early, to be the first people visiting the Keukenhof. An unprecedented wealth of spectacular floral displays planted in endless varieties. Keukenhof is unique, world famous and it has been photographed millions of times. For lunch we visit a dairy farm. Taste homemade cheese, drink a glas of fresh milk, see how al these products come from our cows. Put on your hiking boots for a 7km walk (1,5-2h). It takes you through a magnificent landscape, passing -still functioning- windmills and sheep, birds and cows. The scenery will make it feel like you are in the middle of a Rembrandt or Vermeer painting. It’s time to return to Amsterdam.
